Plain-language summary
Two different things. An appeal asks whether a decision was properly made. A correction fixes a factual error — a misspelled name, a wrong credit — without quietly changing who was recognised.
Plain-language summaries are provided for clarity. Where an approved formal rule exists, that formal rule governs in the event of any inconsistency.
Institutional principles
Artistic judgment and voting outcomes are not, of themselves, appealable.
A correction is additive: the record shows that it was corrected rather than silently changing.
Corrections must never rewrite a substantive Awards outcome.
