The Awards Cycle

The Film & Stage Awards progresses through a defined annual process — from eligibility and consideration through nominations, voting, recognition and permanent archival record.

Awards cycle status: Founding framework in development

The founding Awards cycle.

The inaugural Film & Stage Awards cycle will begin only after the founding governance, eligibility and official rules framework has been adopted. No Awards year has been established, no qualifying period is open and no dates have been set.

The cycle

    Eligibility

    Each cycle begins with a defined qualifying period and the published rules that determine what work may be considered, in which world and in which category.

  2. 02

    Consideration

    Work enters consideration through the mechanism the rules establish for its category. Not every category will use the same mechanism, and confirmation of eligibility is an administrative step, not a form of recognition.

  3. 03

    Nominations

    Nominations are prepared confidentially and become public only at the official announcement. Until then no nominee information exists anywhere on the public site.

  4. 04

    Voting

    Final voting is conducted through a secure balloting environment separate from this website. Ballots are confidential; no counts, distributions or interim standings are ever published.

  5. 05

    Ceremony

    Recognition is presented at the Awards ceremony. Ceremony production has no authority over nominees, ballots or results.

  6. 06

    Archive

    When a cycle closes, its rules, categories, nominees, recipients, ceremony record and corrections become a stable historical snapshot that later cycles cannot rewrite.

Milestones without invented dates.

No milestone dates have been approved. Each milestone below describes a stage of the cycle, not a scheduled event. When dates are adopted they will be published with an explicit time and timezone, and any later change will be published with notice rather than quietly replaced.

Confidentiality

Nothing is disclosed before it is authorised.

Eligibility is not nomination

Confirmation that a work or artist is eligible is an administrative determination only. It is not a nomination, not a shortlist and not a form of Awards recognition.

Nomination embargo

Nominee records are withheld in full until the official announcement. Before release they are not indexable, not searchable, not present in the sitemap, not present in structured data or social metadata, and not reachable through a predictable address.

Final voting closed

When final voting closes, the public record states only that final voting has closed. Sealed results are withheld at the data level and are never present in page content, metadata, structured data, preloaded state or caches before authorised release.

Authorised release

Publication of a recipient requires an explicit authorised release. It is never inferred from a clock time, from the ceremony beginning, from a page being published or from a category appearing in a running order. Results may be released category by category.

Corrections

A typographical correction is recorded differently from a change to an Awards outcome. Outcomes are not ordinary website copy: any substantive change would require an exceptional governed process, and prior published material is preserved rather than rewritten.

Accounting oversight

Capital Directors is designated for intended accounting oversight only. An independent accounting function may later participate in result custody, controlled disclosure, procedural verification and authorised release if that is formally agreed. No result has been counted, verified, certified or audited, and no sole technical custodian has been established.

Final voting

The ballot is not this website.

No balloting provider has been appointed and no voting technology has been chosen. Public-site accounts would never be sufficient for voting: the secure ballot is a separate environment integrated only through a defined boundary.

Public cycle pages support ordinary privacy-respecting analytics. Confidential ballot data and unreleased results are never made available to analytics or any other third-party tooling, and voter choices are never tracked.

Ceremony & results

Producing the ceremony is not deciding the Awards.

Responsibility for show production, broadcast, venue, hospitality, sponsorship, performances or press does not carry any authority over nominees, ballots, recipient decisions or sealed results. Ceremony production and Awards determination are separate functions.

Content editor
Maintains public institutional copy. No authority over nominations, ballots, results or cycle transitions.
Awards operations
Administers the cycle and assigns the governing rules edition. No access to sealed results.
Governance authority
Oversees material transitions and closure of an Awards year under the adopted framework.
Accounting oversight
An independent accounting function, designated only, with a defined procedural role and no editorial control.
Result release authority
The only function able to authorise publication of nominations or recipients.
System administration
Maintains the platform. Administrative access does not confer authority over Awards outcomes.

These are functions, not people. No individual has been appointed to any of them, no function implies another, and holding ownership or administrative access does not carry a right of access to sealed results.

Material lifecycle actions are recorded in an administrative audit trail. That record is internal and is never published.

Archival handoff

A closed year becomes history.

A completed Awards year is substantially immutable. Corrections may be added, with version history, correction records, status changes and provenance preserved. A later cycle never alters an earlier one.

Each cycle keeps the exact rules edition, category versions and governance context that governed it. A category may later change name, be suspended, retired or replaced without disturbing the years it already appears in, and every nominee remains part of the permanent record whether or not they received an Award.

An Awards cycle may need to pause, extend, delay, resume or, in exceptional circumstances, be suspended or cancelled. Such a change is recorded transparently and the historical record is retained. No crisis procedure has been adopted.
